In August 2000 we ran our own radio station for 9 days from 9am until 9pm, we took over the air waves on 19th August and broadcast to the whole of the city of Leicester. We had great fun and every thing ran really smoothly, everyone turned up on time and all the equipment worked really well thanks to Roy Parson and his team
During the nine days we interviews loads of people including Stephen Mullhern from CITV, Local bands, theater groups, Council Road Safety officer, Swimming coaches, local retailers plus many more! During our broadcast Big Brother was on the telly so we decided to run our own big brother but we called it Little Brother, On the last day of the broadcast (Sunday) 10 of us were locked into the studio and the listeners were asked to call in and vote who should be booted out. we started at 7pm and by 8pm we were down to five, the calls continued to come in and at 8.45 only two members were left Amy and Anna. The final voting was fast and furious but there can be only one! Amy was voted out by just one vote and Anna became the winner of the shopping vouchers and had the honor of being the last presenter on air to say goodbye and play the last record, but in true takeover style we all rushed in and shouted goodbye. At the end we counted the phone calls and realised we had received 153 phone calls in 2 hours on one line (boy was that phone hot!1)  You ;Will ;Be ;Taken Over
